TERRASTRATE requires a stable and up-to-date installation of Native Instruments Kontakt or Kontakt Player 6.7.1 or higher.

It needs a fast CPU to run, functioning optimally on both Windows and macOS platforms.

A minimum of 12GB of RAM and 6GB of available SSD storage space is recommended to handle its extensive sound library efficiently.

When you purchase TERRASTRATE, you'll receive a serial number via email. To install, you'll need Kontakt Player and Native Access, both available for free from Native Instruments. You may also use the full version of Kontakt. Once those applications are installed, enter your serial number into Native Access to download and install TERRASTRATE. This process ensures a smooth setup so you can start using TERRASTRATE without delay.

1. I registered the serial, but Native Access won't allow me to download:
   TERRASTRATE will download and install correctly using the latest versions of Native Access 2 so if possible, update to the latest version. Attempting to install with Native Access Legacy (version 1.14.1) will result in the "ADD LIBRARY" option with no way to download. If you are on a legacy operating system, please reach out to NI support or our support page for an alternative download link.
2. Installation Failed (Mac):
   If you’re seeing the “Installation Failed” error on macOS, it's likely due to permission issues or a corrupted download file. Follow this guide by Native Instruments for step-by-step instructions on resolving the problem.
3. Download Failed:
   Unstable internet connection or a full download cache could cause this error. To fix it:
   • Ensure a stable internet connection.
   • Clear your download cache in Native Access by going to “Preferences,” selecting the "File Management" tab, and clicking "Clear Download Cache."
   • Restart Native Access and try downloading again.
4. Library Path Not Found:
   This error occurs when the folder path of your Kontakt libraries is changed or removed. Click “Repair” next to the affected library in Native Access, and choose the correct folder path where your Kontakt libraries are located.
5. Serial Number Already Registered:
   If you see an error saying that the serial number is already registered, ensure you've entered the correct serial number. If the issue persists, contact us here.
6. Access Denied / Permission Errors (Windows):
   Permission errors on Windows can happen due to file or folder restrictions. Run Native Access as an administrator by right-clicking on the application and selecting "Run as Administrator," and ensure your Windows user account has full permissions for the target installation folder.
7. Native Access Stuck on "Searching for the latest update":
   If Native Access gets stuck on "Searching for the latest update," it's often due to a corrupted installation or outdated version. Download and install the latest version of Native Access directly from Native Instruments' website, restart your computer, and try again.

The bounds of granular can be stretched to allows for the tempo-syncing of grain playback or "density", duration or "size", and grain fade-ins/outs, transforming TERRASTRATE into a versatile pulse maker.

Yes, TERRASTRATE can be integrated with any digital audio workstation (DAW) that supports VST, AU, or AAX plugins since it operates within the Kontakt Player. This compatibility allows TERRASTRATE to function seamlessly in DAWs like Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Pro Tools, GarageBand, Reaper, and Studio One. For users without a DAW, TERRASTRATE also works in the standalone version of Kontakt Player, enabling direct performance from your system. Granular synthesis is resource-intensive. If you're experiencing performance issues with TERRASTRATE, here are a few tips to optimize its operation:

1. Manage Samples: To free up RAM, use Kontakt's sample purge feature to unload unused samples from TERRASTRATE. This can be done from the 'Purge' option in the Kontakt interface.
2. Adjust Effects: Reduce CPU usage by minimizing the use of delay and modulation. Turn off delay by setting the delay knob to zero and disable modulation slots if they are not in use.
3. Monitor Voice Count: Granular synthesis can increase voice count, which may spike CPU usage. Keep an eye on the voice count in the Kontakt browser. You can reduce grain density to lower overlapping note counts, thus conserving CPU resources.
4. Limit Polyphony: To further decrease CPU load, adjust the maximum number of voices allowed in Kontakt's settings to limit the number of simultaneous notes.
